Westgate Resort & Casino

For almost 50 years, The Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino has been a venue for incredible events. It has 2,956 hotel rooms including 305 suites. It was known for many years as the Las Vegas Hilton. It was renamed the Westgate Las Vegas on July 1, 2014. The hotel is 30 stories tall with a height of 375 feet. Located on 64 acres, it has a 74,000 sq. ft. casino and is also home to the largest sports book in Las Vegas. The hotel is located next to the Las Vegas Convention Center and has its own 200,000 sq. ft. convention center, and a station along the Las Vegas Monorail.

As it opened, Elvis Presley performed for 58 consecutive sold out shows in one month, breaking all Las Vegas attendance records, with stellar reviews coming from both critics and the public. Elvis broke his own attendance records many times. When playing Las Vegas, he lived in the penthouse suite located on the 30th floor. Elvis performed a total of 837 shows, all to sold out audiences. His statue is in the lobby.

The Las Vegas Hilton was also the site where Leon Spinks defeated Muhammad Ali for the World Heavyweight Championship. It was also the site in which Mike Tyson defeated Tony Tucker to unify and become the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion and Donald Curry defeated Milton McCrory to unify and become the Undisputed Welterweight Champion.

This hotel was the setting for the stage segment of Elvis Presley's concert documentary Elvis - That's The Way It Is. It was used as the infamous "Whyte House" casino in the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever. Through 2013, Wheel of Fortune was filmed on location here. The hotel was last completely renovated in 2008.
